GameBoy Advance SP

Recommended Posts

Well it is nearly that time of year and I am thinking about getting a GameBoy Advance SP for myself as I have been a good boy this year :p

What I want to know is which colour to get!?

I know I want it but I have heard that the silver one rubs off and it looks crappy. Is this true? What about this Arctic Blue colour that is available?

I hate making decisions, especially when it is such an important one :p

Thanks all :D

I've got the artic blue one and haven't had any color rub off, I play it almost everyday and my two year old has even had a few hours with it. Looks just like it did when I bought it!

Flame looks cool but I like my Cobalt one :)

i can attest to battery life.. i can't give a specific figure but it definately lasts for many hours. 12 hrs that Dazz quoted seems almost right actually. lasts a long time

I have a GBA, and I loved it when I got it. But... seeing that light mod for the first time got me thinking, this damn thing coulda been better. Then, the GBA SP came out and I was in heaven. Not only did I see what was going on, everything seemed so vibrant and awesome. I love it so much.

Not much to complain about the lil guy. Although it is small, it surprisingly fits like a glove. As for battery life, laugh at it. I got through a whole day on the battery and still had time for more gaming well into the next day. I don't know for sure how long I had but man, those guys are better than the energizer bunny! The recharge time is awesome as well, the ability to play while recharging as well as a fast recharge is a must have alone! The cool factor is a hit and miss, since you are playing with a GB and most associate Pokemon with that, it is a bit of a turnoff.... until you break out Tetris! lol These are better than the wussy cell phones, and just as cool. I don't think you could buy a better portable gaming console, at a better price, in a better color (I have the silver too!)

BTW I pretty much had every GB on the market and played the hell outta every good game on there (except for Final Fight, that was crap man) GBA SP is the best so far!

Cheers

The battery life is bitchin' for sure. Spyder actually convinced me to go cobalt over platinum and I can't complain because it's very unique. However either way you'll be getting the best damn handheld on the planet with a TON of games at your disposal, and none of the colors are bad so you can't go wrong. :)

I vote for cobalt!

I have a silver gba sp, and have had no problems with the color coming off...

There is only one thing this lil guy is missing.... a built in phono jack would be nice.... instead you have to use an adaptor... no big deal though... If you are familar with the regular gba... this one is smaller and it is not as easy to play for long periods of time without your hands cramping if you want to use all of the buttons... including the L and R button... I find them a bit tricky to use in action games, but in rpg or strategy, where coordination is not needed.... it is fine and dandy...

One other note.... I would get one of those gba memory cartridges if you don't already have one... I have a 128 meg one and it is great.... easybuy2000.com has one about to come out I think...

Nothing's wrong with pokemon, just that if you're gonna play in public, you don't wanna let people know you like it.

Ah, that's just what I heard from alot of my other fellow GBA players, they play other stuff, but I'm a typical racer/fighter/sidescroller dude who loves classic gaming. I'd rather play pokemon pinball than that kiddie rpg (no offense) :)

I just noticed, "kidde RPG"? pokemon is far from a lightweight starter for little kids, the game is as deep as you want. I've clocked up well over 100 hours on that game and is far, far deeper and involving then some so called "adult" rpgs.

I'd suggest you stop listening to what people say about games and try them for yourself because you will definitely miss out on a game you'd enjoy sooner or later if you don't, Pokemon or not.
