Any 'cure' would almost necessarily involve stopping the aging process, which would cause huge problems with both population and social class balance. (Assuming that by cure you mean something more precise then firing lasers and injecting drugs that will hopefully affect the cancer more than the surrounding cells; there isn't any way to specifically target cancerous cells with medication.)
