Mobile vs. Full site viewing

Recommended Posts

Am having an issue on a couple machines, but this laptop in particular, where I can't view my banks full site. My bookmark takes me to a page that says the mobile page has changed and/or moved and to update bookmark. I've NEVER used the mobile version of the site, so that definitely is NOT what page I had bookmarked. This laptop has ALWAYS been hard wired in fact.

Anyway, on this laptop, both Firefox and Seamonkey keep going to the mobile page although in Firefox I can click the link that says view full site and it works, but it won't in Seamonkey. Haven't tried Opera yet, but on any of my other machines, Opera hasn't ever gone to mobile page (just checked. Opera works fine)

I have a topic going on this over at the Mozillazine forums, which as usual isn't working right now, but so far none of the suggestions there have done anything.

I've deleted cookies, disabled and re-enabled java script and a couple other things that were suggested, but nothing is changing.

This is my bank site.

but this is where this laptop keeps going

FWIW,

This has occurred unber both Windows 7 and Xubuntu 11.10 (which I'm on now) and 3 different browsers, Firefox, Seamonkey and IE9. In Windows I don't use Firefox but I do use Palemoon.

The attachment is the page I can't get to quit loading and you can see the link to view full site.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks

User agent string was one of the suggestions in the Mozzilazine forum. Just tried it again. No difference.

Thanks

Edit:

Now this is weird as heck. I just right clicked my own link above and opened a new tab to go to the banks full site and it worked! I then copy & pasted the url into my bookmarks and then went there, but again went to mobile site!! WTF?! Right clicking and opening a new window also goes to mobile version.

If I just click the link (it opens a new windows) to go to the banks site, it goes to the mobile version.

Edit 2:

I did the above in Seamonkey. Now in Firefox and no matter how I click the link, Firefox goes to mobile version of site. Clicking the "Full Site" link at the bottom of that page DOESN'T work in Firefox and it did just a few minutes ago.

Well, I uninstalled Seamonkey 2.5 and installed 2.6 even though under tools/check for update, 2.6 isn't recognized.

Deleted ALL files, hidden or otherwise, and bank site now works correctly from within my bookmarks.

Unfortunately, since trying to solve this issue, I have ran into it a couple more times in Palemoon and IE 9!

Stupid bank!! :

Since it's affecting multiple browsers on multiple platforms (I see you running Linux in the screenshot above, but then you mentioned IE9 as well) I would blame the bank's website and not anything in particular on your clients.
