WolfieZero
I was wonder how I can get my DLNA server (a MyBook NAS running Twonky Media Server) to broadcast across two routers. At the moment it only broadcasts on the router it's connected to (ip config 192.168.1.* on a DSL-2640R) but then my second router (a WNR2000 which has a 10.0.0.* ip config) doesn't broadcast it. Annoying as I want both to see the DLNA but want the two routers as one is doing N only and the other is doing G only. They are connected via a cat cable from the WNR2000 internet port to a standard port in the DSL-2640R and the MyBook is connected to the DSL-2640R. Thanks for any help! Teebor
If they are connected to the same network why are you using them both to give out IP addresses? Why not just connect them in such a way that both routers are connected to the same network, use the same DHCP server (one of the routers presumably) Post up a pic/description of exactly how they are connected together and your network, and an idea of ip's etc. People could probably give you some more help
+BudMan MVC Posted December 23, 2011 MVC Share Posted December 23, 2011 "but want the two routers as one is doing N only and the other is doing G only." As mentioned by Teebor this has nothing to do with double NATing or even multiple broadcast domains (network segments) Just use your 2nd wireless router as Accesspoint vs a NAT router and you wont have any problems. All your devices can be on the same network. As Teebor started, its as simple as disable dhcp on your second router, change its lan IP to be on the first routers network so you can access it easy, then connect 2nd wireless router to first rotuers network using one of its LAN ports vs its WAN = instant Accesspoint, no nat -- all devices on the same network. And sure you can use N on 2nd router and G on 1st, etc. etc.
