How to: Punish a child.

The only legal way now is talking and taking away privileges anything else is considered cruel and unusual punishment or torture.??I would highly recommend going back to the basics and remove things that are privileges like (going outside with friends, phone, computer, video games, tv, etc.).??Then leave the kid with the bare essentials and make them earn the privilege of the things they took for granted over no less then a period of 30 days so it really sinks in.??If that is just a bed, ability to stay in the house and food that is all that is required by law and should teach them a lesson and remind them who the boss is in the house. This way they can do reading and talking with family members but all the extra fun stuff they liked to do would have to be earned back and the good thing is you never had to touch the kid and your getting them on the deeper mental level that lasts long term and won't be forgotten

Taping them to a chair is easier.

In today's worlds that is considered torture/child abuse by somebody and would probably go under several charges like:

Child endangerment, assault, etc. if child services knew the parental guardian of the child that did that the kid would go into foster care and the guardian locked up.

If your making someone do something or preventing them from doing something against their will I am sure it can become some criminal charge. Who knows with time taking kids tv, game consoles, phone etc. might be considered stealing if the kids call the cops on you over taking away things you gave them as gifts.

You do realize the whole thing is a joke, have you not noticed what video she's being forced to listen to?

Just take away the Iphone or the Android and give them this....

Though they may call Child Protective Services on you for the pager... it could be considered cruel and unusual punishment.

I know it's supposed to be a joke but wouldn't forcing anyone to watch Rebecca Black be taking it a little too far. Just thought I would add a little spice to this as it is a current problem in today's world and may not be perceived as funny to people.

Would never do this. I agree it is a good punishment, but it isn't very thought out. What happens when the kid is free and the song is stuck in there head? Then you get to listen to it through them repeating it..... Better punishment, just tell them to go outside and play. Not like there are any other kids outside since they would be inside playing video games/computer/tv. Thus, you have isolated them from the world.

Bad idea, kid could just walk to a friend's house and watch TV/play games there

If your kid is going to someones house and you don't know about it, you have more serious issues on your hands.

Because your child is definitely liable to start smoking crack cocaine and taking rides in the nice kind man's minivan the moment they leave your sight.

Wow, way to take it to the extreme to prove an non existent point. Guess the woman who left her foster kids at a park nearby while she gambled for 40 minutes did nothing wrong. Parents should know where there kids are at all times. There is a reason for that and if you are too naive to understand that reason, it is then pointless to continue any conversation on the topic with you.
