Boffa Jones Veteran Posted October 2, 2003 Veteran Share Posted October 2, 2003 First poll i have made so im not sure if it will work  . I am just wondering i personally use IGN but i would like to know what everyone uses even if it is neither. (i did use the search thing so if this has been done feel free to complain in the thread, and tell me to learn to use the search function)
AndyD
ign as well as I like the fact that they don't cover just games. i still frequent gamespot though for the freebies :)
Boffa Jones Veteran Posted October 2, 2003 Author Veteran Share Posted October 2, 2003 I pretty much dont bother with gamespot but i used to love the gamespotting things...Havn't seen them in awhile.
Chiss1
I use IGN for the most from those 2. But my favorite game site is www.GameRevolution.com :)
AndyD
Well, I like reading multiple reviews on a game I'm interested in so that I get varying viewpoints. I wouldn't pay for more than one sub though.
IlliniPi
I pay for IGN, and I'm really happy that I did. Get a lot of inside news, unlimited videos, screenshots...good stuff overall. :D
Boffa Jones Veteran Posted October 2, 2003 Author Veteran Share Posted October 2, 2003 Gaming life in japan is good but it sucsk that for awhile it was pretty inconsistantly updated. But i do enjoythe insider only stuff.
Acezo
Love IGN, have a year sub for it right now. Head-2-Heads, Gaming Life in Japan/Australia, and Direct-Feed videos are enough for me to want it...but I like it for much more.
Danrarbc
I'm also an IGN guy. The content + the message boards got me to sign up. Gamespot's content looks nice too, but I've heard the boards suck - the actual board system, not the content.
DsnBehind
Neither: too many advertisements.
Icarus ^i^
I'm a subscriber to Gamespot but rarely use it so I don't think I'll renew it. One site I'm paying for and use very frequently is Fileplanet..access to files instantly, when they're released without queues is worth paying for :)
IlliniPi
Neither: too many advertisements. Actually if you pay for IGN, you have the option to turn off the majority of the ads (about 90%) including all the pop-ups (I use Phoenix anyways).
.KICK
Actually if you pay for IGN, you have the option to turn off the majority of the ads (about 90%) including all the pop-ups (I use Phoenix anyways). I am an ign insider and you have to pay more to remove the ads which is annoying but hey they gotta make money, I use IGN, it has alot of content and good reviews, I esecially like the head2head etc and such :)
Heather
I wouldn't pay for either, but if I had to pay for one, it would be IGN.

Timan Veteran Posted October 2, 2003 Veteran Share Posted October 2, 2003 For IGN you have to sign up for Insider to remove fullpage ads and the BIG ones, yet ads are still on the site :(, I got a subscription to both Gamespot Complete and IGN Insider, aswell as Gamespy Founder :D I use Gamespy's the most cause of Fileplanet, but IGN for movies, and Gamespy for the odds and ends...
