0 mrk Reviews Posted January 10, 2012 Reviews Share Posted January 10, 2012 You can't really improve a rubbish quality video to begin with. you can add filters to sharpen the picture but many areas of the film will look like crap. I've played witht his idea with SD content before and it's just not worth it. Anyway, for HW acceleration you want a player that supports DXVA, MPC-HC supports it just fine and works flawlessly: http://www.xvidvideo.ru/media-player-classic-home-cinema-x86-x64/ ^ That's the BE/Mod edition which is update every few days with the latest builds with bugfixes/feature updates etc. I've not had a problem with it in years. You'll know it's working because it will show DXVA when playing back content that benefits from GPU acceleration such as h.254 media. There are also many Android apps out there to control it from your phone, I use MPC Remote to manage my watching from lying in bed etc.
