slee
yay, satisfaction at last. comcast called me back a few minutes ago and admitted that the problem was on their end. they claim that the contractors they had install the fiber optics did a shoddy job on polishing the fiber ends and they are in the process now of having the fiber ends tested and repolished by a different contractor(but now that i'm on dsl i don't care)but it will be great news to my clients effected by this. jonovate
My Cable ISP - OptusNet - blocked out my ability to set my computer up as a webserver - of any kind. Although some things are still let through, and there is no block for other people with my ISP connecting to me, but many programs which are dependent on these connections (such as WinXP remote assistance) are blocked.  Problem is, we're locked into contract for 6 more months  - and it still is the best deal around. When u signed up with them, were you able to? And in the manuals and such, does it mention anything about allowing ftp , etc. If they advertised about being able to use P2P, etc... then they properly screwed themself over... breach of contract. Just mention it and they'll compromise. When you are locked into a contract, one party cannot change the terms without the other sides permission. its like making a contract with a pro athlete, then telling him he didnt play up to expectations for the month, and he wont get paid the full sum of the contract as agreed upon initially.
