Li_Lee
Right, the other day the internet on windows stopped working, but now its fixed but that isnt the problem, the problem is since ive got the net working again (a change of network card) every website works for me except for www.google.*, if i type the url in, it doesnt work.... if i find a link to google and click that, it doesnt work... click on it from the history, it doesnt work and so on. Would anyone know what the problem is? or have any form of solution thanks :) edit: yeah, ive tried accessing google from other web browsers too and that doesnt work. shootmenow
I have the exact same problem. I wonder if its my ISP or a worm on my computer.
Muffzilla
Same problem here. I can access yahoo, but can't search. Can access toolbar.google.com, but not google.com. I downloaded the google.qhosts trojan scanner, but it didn't find anything. It's been like this most of the afternoon. I wonder if this has something to do with Verisign. Li_Lee
Problem fixed. :-) It was that qhost worm or whatever
mcgowanbl
This seems to be a virus or malicious code that creates Host files with bogus references to invalid web pages. search your harddrive for files named "hosts" no extension open the file in notepad if you find references to websites you are trying to access, but they have the wrong ip address, then you should be looking for viruses or spyware on your machine you may try deleting them, but it is very likely they will come right back to find out if the ip is legit, visit www.codefux.com/tools and ping the address by name (ex. www.google.com = 216.239.53.99) note: the site may have more then one ip address, but typically starts the same ex. 216.x.x.x
