EnjoyHIC
What does everyone think about the Nokia N-Gage? I am just curious if it will be worth buying?
Leo Natan
Nah, don't. It's too large fot a cell phone, and too small for gaming console (computer?).
Danrarbc
It's got way too many design flaws to be a good gaming device, for instance you have to remove the battery to switch game carts.
+BeLGaRaTh Subscriber¹ Posted October 3, 2003 Subscriber¹ Share Posted October 3, 2003 Its pretty dire, I would say save yourself some money and get a GBA or SP (I hear theres a price drop on the horizon too)
macster
It has lots of design flaws Nokia would really need to get a N-Gage 2 out soon But then again, we are talking about a company that has a track record of taking a long time to fix design flaws or not fixing them at all
Chicane-UK Veteran Posted October 3, 2003 Veteran Share Posted October 3, 2003 I can't say I really want a portable games machine as my mobile phone.. And I hear Nokia really screwed up with the N-Gage.. that and Penny Arcade have slated them :)
Icarus ^i^
It's not for me... I'm not really interested in the phone/game hybrids... I want my phone bloody small and functional. When it comes to mobile games, I'm simply gonna wait for Sonys PSP. That machine is gonna be good :)
EnjoyHIC
Is there anyone that has anything positive to say about the N-Gage? I like Nokia phones in general... and this will have more than just games... it is a phone, pda, mp3 player, etc... Again... Just curious... Danrarbc
Not really, I haven't seen anything very positive. The best I've seen are some luke-warm words. It wasn't a bad idea from Nokia, but the execution sucks.
Boffa Jones Veteran Posted October 4, 2003 Veteran Share Posted October 4, 2003 Also apparantly there is no real standard button set so liek the start/accept button is different in every game.

Leo Natan
Looks very expansive too, 299$ for a "regular" version, 399$ for a "special". Bullsh|t!
Electronic Punk
Played Tomb Raider on it the other day. Wouldn't and couldn't use it as a phone tho.
l77Il7H
i don't think cell phone were meant to be a portable game console also. nokia should just leave the portable game console job to nintendo. i check out of the game i thought some of it was pretty stupid, for instance; sonic, the screen is just too slim, you can't see what he is going to run into, lol. Boffa Jones Veteran Posted October 5, 2003 Veteran Share Posted October 5, 2003 I deftinetly htink that if nokia was serious about it they could have amde a true portable gaming system by itself and it woudl have been great. I mean the graphics are fine but if they made it a real on the screen would have been a good size and the buttons woudl be ok...oh well...
