BaZurk
Okay so I just purchased the Asus RT-N66U. I can't wait for it to get to me!! I also purchased one Asus WL-ANT-191 2.4GHz 9dBi Omni Antenna Now a few questions.. should I buy two more Antenna's or will it not make a difference? Do I have to boost the signal in the firmware or will it do it when I attach the new Antenna? Will this really make a difference in range? Is there anything else I need to know? helpifIcan
I would get three antennas. Unless you install third party firmware you probably will not be able to change the output. Better antennas do increase signal output.
BaZurk
So i'd need three of them to boost the signal?

Roger H. Veteran Posted January 25, 2012 Veteran Share Posted January 25, 2012 Is that really your download speed? Damn! Hehe, not possible - maybe on Lightpath but OOL's top speed is 101Mbps. It's a glitch at OOKLA as the upload is only 5Mbps. I'm guessing that's from the 30/5Mbps "Boost" package. As for the Antenna's, you living in BK, you house is that big to need extra antennas? With the 66U even with 3 bars of service at the total far end of the property you should still get 70Mbps :)
