mp3 tagging/verifying program

Recommended Posts

Hey everybody,

i have tons of mp3s on my hard drive and i wanted to know if anybody used those mp3 verifying programs. They like change it to its real name and stuff... I tried the musicbrainz one but it changed some names wrong, and put the changed ones in new folders, well it was a real pain and it wasted a lot of my time...

What about you guys, do you use any of those?

I think MusicMatch does the best tagging and renaming job. WMP9 can also tag and rename your mp3s. But MusicMatch's interface and options on tag/rename looking up is the best.

Windows Media Player 9 does this for you, sorts your music in folders real nice and gives them appropriate tag info.

For the ones it cannot identify you can manually select their proper tag info from a list

WMP9 will monitor and update tags of items spread across multiple folders, hence the 'Monitor Folders..." button at the top there.

Check the items in the lower box to what suits your needs. The setup I have right there will put all the proper tag info on the song, the other radial button will just fill in the blanks. Just decide how you want it to be handled.
