Using Memes can be dangerous

I have to side with EA on this one. They did what they had to do. If he CALMLY and POLITELY emails them and proves that he's at least the required age (Physically, mentally is a bit iffy!) they'll unban him. They did what they have to do. I like how a lot of Customer Support Horror Stories - not just EA ones - are provided with no context at all or the customer is absolutely raging.

Its pretty pathetic that he cant even challenge the ban. This is why i like to stick to steam, ive had positive results with their customer service. EA/Origin are pure evil, not only is their ToS basically allowing origin to be worse than your general spyware, but their support staff are are pathetically trained and cant handle off standard situations.

Their tos is no worse than the one that comes with Steam.

I see all these people posting pictures of *other* people having a bad time with ea customer support, but none of the people posting those pictures actually had to deal with them. However in my experience EA's customer support is just fine. I've had to contact them twice, both times my problem was resolved within minutes of contacting them (had to do with dlc not unlocking on my account, nothing I could personally do to resolve the problem) and the second time they gave me a coupon code for 50% off any game on the ea store, released or not.

So say what you will about ea but they've done good by me. Just people hating on EA because well, why not? It's the cool thing to do apparently.

I'm 12, and what is this.

Brian was banned for this post due to Neowin's ToS.

Honestly though, EA were in the right on this. But having said that, I'm now waiting for the world the implode because of the oxymoron.

Just for the sheer fact he geekily used such a moronic statement means I'm glad he got banned. Dude needs to grow the hell up. I hate memes online ... they're just not ... ever ... funny.

EA weren't in the right at all.. people who work for companies should exercise their discretion. That meme is very well known. They could have at least investigated before outright banning the person.

Yes, meme's are annoying, but they're a big part of internet/message board culture.

We shouldn't have mindless drones moderating forums, but people who are willing to take an objective view over what was said rather than looking at it in black and white.

It is? Sorry, but I've never heard it before.

Whatever the case I'm a firm believer in the saying; "act like an idiot get treated like an idiot", in which case this guy got what he deserved.

Under 13 yo killed wow. Can't blame them for not taking any chance.

Ban them or give them Kung Fu Panda and Pokemon gameplay. I think the choice is clear. SWTOR wins.

Very well known to who? I never even heard of it until I saw the article about this whole fiasco on Kotaku the other day. So just because you happen to know about it, does not mean everyone else does.

I had to look it up. DirtyLarry is right, not everyone hangs out on 4chan.
