+BudMan MVC Posted January 30, 2012 MVC Share Posted January 30, 2012 Not a book -- but I wish I could attend this!! But I know my current employee will not cover the cost.. http://www.blackhat....tBackTrack.html This is an intensive, hands-on security class by Offensive Security, the creators of Backtrack, and is especially designed for delivery at BlackHat. "Pentesting with BackTrack" is targeted towards network administrators and security professionals who need to get acquainted with the latest hacking tools and techniques available with the world-renowned BackTrack 5. 5 is actually somewhat recent, not sure you going to find much in print about it -- other than that beginners guide I already gave you. But this is good http://www.amazon.com/BackTrack-Assuring-Security-Penetration-Testing/dp/1849513945/

This is a hell of a class. I took it a couple of years ago. We stayed late every night and it wore me out. I would highly recommend it to anyone that is interested, but please understand what pentesting is and how to use basic tools before you take it. Muts and crew are great instructors who want to see you succeed. This is a good book on Metasploit: http://www.amazon.com/Metasploit-Penetration-Testers-David-Kennedy/dp/159327288X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1327950635&sr=8-1 Have not looked at this one yet: http://www.amazon.com/Art-Exploitation-BackTrack-handbook-ebook/dp/B006KSVF9Q/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1327950635&sr=8-
