+BudMan MVC Posted February 2, 2012 MVC Share Posted February 2, 2012 They switched that on quite some time ago http://support.google.com/websearch/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=173733 There was some issues when they first did it, and had backed off to encrypted.google.com, etc.. But yeah this is the norm for quite some time - now depending on what .tld your using for google it might of been recently changed. If you having issues with you can force it back to non encrypted if you so desire. remixedcat 1 Share

paxa
if i'm not mistaken this was a measure taken a while ago by google in order to block bing. this because microsoft announced that bing was getting up the ladder of search engines, but the results were bogus. as it seems they were "stealing" from google. so in order to prevent that google secured the search results by using https.. Mr.XXIV
You're in HTTPS when you're logged in. They want your account to be encrypted anywhere you go on Google, even if you're not on your account page, due to your info & movements being recorded on the spot. Correct me if I'm wrong as usual, guys. :)
