Why use a resident antivirus, well simply, protects your system the times when you are not running a online scan, derr. Best combo? devBrian
I used to use ZoneAlarm... now I just use Norton Anti-Virus & Norton Internet Security. Doesn't lag down my system, keeps it safe, keeps it sexy. Mhm.
36580_1437839233
I also used to use ZoneAlarm, it bogs my system down and takes forever to start up (every time I restart Windows). I also used to have McAfee Virusscan but there was so many conflicts with other McAfee products I bought, that I decided to chuck it. Finally, Norton Anti-Virus and Norton Internet Security does the job excatly like it should. Although it does take a little more resources than McAfee, you are 100% sure that you are safe. Easy to use, Number One. Norton. ;-)

Redestium
sorry dude, but i have never had a single virus in over 5 years on my systemI am smart enough to know how not to get a virus without having some crappy software slow down my system I agree that smarts are important whenever you're doing something online, however I don't claim to know it all (and even if you claim you do there could be vulnerabilities beyond your intervention) so wouldn't it be more prudent to run the software regardless? I mean how much of a slowdown are we talking about running apps such as these? On modern machines it shouldn't matter in the slightest. I mean if everyone was running even a crappy firewall, blaster wouldn't have been anything. Just my take on it. *shrugs*
