the black bar is way better. current one just wastes screen space for no reason and is awkward to use.

I prefer this design and find it more functional than the previous dropdown menu. For some reason my Google+ name is indented and looks weird. Going to delete cookies and flush cache and see if that does anything.

Edit: That did it. Looks even better now. Before deleting cookies and flushing cache there were elements of both old and new.

I think I've always had the black bar since it was first introduced however long ago.
