WLM

Question

G'day All,

Just a quick enquiry, I often video chat with a mate in the UK. Using wlm, I am sure that I could play music on my system and anyone chatting with me could also hear it.

Now I'm at a loss as to why this no longer works here. They can hear my voice perfectly even when the music is so loud, I can't hear myself. But they cannot hear anything apart from my voice.

Used to have a ball playing different music to each other, now it's just a memory.

Any ideas on why this has occured? WLM, Windows 7?

Any help appreciated.

Did you get a new mic or update drivers where the noise canceling kicked in, like jakem1 mentioned?

Presumably the software's echo cancellation algorithm blocks out any sound passing out through the PC's sound card.

Maybe I am not sure. It wasn't like it before though. Been through a few MS upgrades since we last chatted, now the music doesn't get through. I've gone through the settings and I can't see anywhere that I need to do a particular thing to get it working.

I just find it strange that it would filter that out.

P.S. Please excuse any stupidity on my behalf, I have been drinking! lol
