XBOX - popularity misunderstanding!

Recommended Posts

Ok, here is a question that has been lingering in my sub-conscience.

Does the Xbox really have that good of a game base? I mean I have been devoted to Nintendo and Playstation since they arrived on the market, in fact my nintendo is still kicking around in my room somewhere!

Seriously though, this console looks to me like an over the counter effort for gorillas to play games. I have seen one in person and it looks decent and weighs a ton... ok, ok

My real question is, are they worth it. Feed your oppinions here, I want to find out what the true Xbox fans think!!

k, thnx :shifty:

I would check that thread out. Not a direct answer but I think it would help in any decisions you're trying to make. I personally don't see any upcoming exclusive PS2 games that will be worth owning the system. Eventually, most of the exclusive games will be released either on the PC or other systems so it's not really a selling point anymore.

The Gamecube on the other hand is the perfect companion to anyone's gaming collection. Though Nintendo has serious marketing/management issues, they still manage to trickle out quality first games that should not be missed.

Alright, thanks for the link!

I agree nintendo is a serious past time console for me, it all started off with Mario on nintendo. Then the obsession hit with n64 and Orcarina.

I agree that a gamecube is a must have, it pumped out two calssics already.

- Metroid Prime

- Wind Waker

I dont really feel the need to mod it as it would cost a bit of cash but i think it is deftinetly worth it if you ahve the cash to burn. Just keep supporting the good games and rip the average ones ;)

Ifyour a 1337 solder you can solder the bios flash points and flash the bios with exicuter (or whatever bios you want) and its the same as having a modchip! It's free and thats what i did to mine. Its called a TSOP at xbox-scene by the way.

yeh i love my xbox, i'd never be without one now... if it breaks i'd be straight down the shop buying another one

games are great, live is great fun and the underground modscene is the best out of all the consoles... I could'nt be without xbox media player at all, beats the pants off any proper standalone player

I have an Xbox that I bought the week that they originally came out and have never been disappointed with it. I have also bought and sold a PS2 because it was a huge disappointment! Is it worth it? YES

Not worth it if you already got a PS2 or Gamecube.

not too. i had a gamecube prior to buying my xbox. the consoles compliment each other well in my opinion.

I know, I seem to be getting incerasingly zZz with my playstation as of late.

I just am not thrilled with the games as much as I was, I think it had to do with the buzz about it...thats faded. I just see so many other games that I want, they just are on consoles I dont have. rearhasfjkasls!@

Or maybe it is just the thought that I can not get them that makes me want them.

WILL I EVER KNOW.....DUN DUN dunnnnn

ates.

I've been a devoted PS2 follower, but the one thing that flaws the PS2 is the lack of an 'online community'. The online player base for XBox - either Live or XBC/XLink - are great.

Like some others on this thread, I recommend modding it with a chip and upgrading the HDD. This way, (unless you are on Live) you can copy all your legal ( :ninja: yeah right) backups to your hard drive and not have to worry about scratching your copi.... erm, bought games.

You cant (read: shouldnt because you'll get your ass banned) connect to Live with an activated modchip, so its always something to consider when you think about modding.
