forensics tools?

hi I was just wondering if anyone had any good tools I could use... I have tried using encase 4 but I REEALLLYY do not understand what I am doing... all I want to do is recovery deleted files, I am currently using tuneup to recovery and JPEG recovery to repair any jpegs BUT I wish to scan phones some of which do not come up as storage (such as iphone) and yes.... just need some good programs or a very basic click here to do this guide for encase

you can try recovermyfiles, if you download it, it will give you a preview of the files it can restore prior to purchasing. easeus has a drive recovery that is free up to 1GB, then you pay for it if you like it. there are plenty of open soruce, testdisk works pretty good.

Testdisk is a good one. Recuva works fairly well if you want a good GUI.

indeed i have my backtrack 5r1 for hacks, but there is no real descriptions anywhere on the tools within back track (is someone could link me to a list of back track tools and there purposes that would be great) cause i cant sit there trying to learn how to use a program just to find out its not what i need
