Tracking what you search for in a location they could get to, ie a cookie - then that would be spying. Neowin is tracking the number of posts you have made - is that spying? I personally wouldn't want my resumes, thoughts, documents, family photos, etc going to some company.. I mean hell last figure I heard is 1 in 4 North Americans are subject to identity theft at some point in their lives - and spyware makes it that much easier (not to mention it messes your computer up)..
