I'm trying out the Windows 8 Consumer Preview and was unable to send or receive email in Outlook 2010, even though there were no changed to my account settings from W7. I played around with the port and authentication settings and finally I am able to send and receive emails. Now the problem is that even though I can send and receive emails when I run send/receive I get I get this message:
Send/Receive error
Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC1A) : 'Your server does not support the connection encryption type you have specified. Try changing the encryption method. Contact your mail server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP) for additional assistance.'
I wonder if anyone else had this problem and if yes was it fixable. I don't know if this is just a bug running it in Windows 8 but I figured there's no harm in asking. If I can't do anything about it it's ok.
