Evizu
I have just implemented a wireless network into my home, and i seem to be struggling with the set up. The problem is that when i connect to the wireless network the connection on the local computer will reset every minute or so, now i pretty certain it is a problem with the router as i have had the whole network is resetting, wired and wireless, although the last time i attempted to connect to the wireless network it was just the local computer that had been affected. The wireless network is currently disabled, as i have had to write this... When i say local computer, i mean the computer with the problematic wireless network card. My set up: No Security Measures in place, i.e. WEP, Mac Filtering Channel 6 Short Preamble Basic Rates of 1-2-5.5-11 TX Rates of 1-2-5.5-11-22 its 802.11b Now on the RTS Threshold is say 4095 but its range is: 256~2432, default:2432 [is this right?] And the same with the fragmentation, its current setting is 4095 but its range is range: 256~2432, default:2436 [is this right?] The router is of the latest firmware [2.20], the modelof the router is D-Link DI-614+, the network card model is D-Link DWL-520+ of which has had no firmware upgrade. Thanks /Edit - the operating system for the local computer is windows xp pro. //Edit - Security Measures were removed for testing the network, [if and] when i get the network running i will return the security settings. -=SD=-
Have you tried to download those drivers for the network card? I remember seeing them on d-link's site when I was looking up info on that before I bought it. (Other than that I can't help, though Fowen has the same router) //edit - seems we both keep editing lol

Frank
Evizu: All of the computers stop working at the same time both wired and wireless? The first thing I would check is to go into your device manager (right click on My Computer and click manage) find your network card, go into properties, and click the power management tab. You need to MAKE SURE the "Allow computer to shut off this device to conserve power" is not checked. If this does not help, the only thing I can think of (since the problem is both wireless and wired) is that you have a bad router. I would call up D-Link and get a RMA.
