htcz
Hey It seems that web pages are taking forever to load while downloads, thru HTTP or torrents or any other system is very fast. Any reason? This hasn't happened before. Thank you
Gerowen
HTTP web browsing can be slower than just downloading files over HTTP for a couple of reasons. When you browse to a site, the text file that is the web page you're visiting gets downloaded almost instantly. What gives the illusion of slowness though is a combination of the web browser's rendering engine, and embedded media. If there's an image embedded in the web page, your browser has to go download that image, and then it has to try and display it according to the markup language used in the page you're viewing. If an embedded media takes a while to download, then the page may take longer to load while your browser waits for the embedded media to finish downloading to your computer. This is all assuming you were asking a general question. Is your browsing slower than it used to be, or acting unusually slow compared to what you think it should be? +BudMan MVC Posted March 11, 2012 MVC Share Posted March 11, 2012 Browsing can also be slow due to dns problems. Once you resolve the location of the download you just download it, but with browsing there are hundreds of fqdn that have to be resolved on constantly. So if your dns is slow, then your browsing can suffer.
StanJones
I'm curious, is that the case with browsing different sites or is it one particular site that is showing a delayed response ?
