loc[a]lhost
ok its a long story... 3 years ago i've got broadband, ADSL. then a year or so later, i found out how to upgrade my modem, an Alcatel SpeedTouch Home, to SpeedTouch Pro. my internet worked just great without dialing (the pro is a router) :D until i was such a stupid and upgraded it further to SpeedTouch 510. it just couldnt handle it. so i went to the phone company, they replaced it without any problems :) near that time i've connected an old and hardly working 900MHz Sony cordless phone that i had lying around to the line. the new modem they gave me worked fine at the beginning, but a month or so later it started having problems, the modem rebooted randomly, and its interface (http://10.0.0.138) have got locked with a password :s so i replaced it again (sigh), and a month later the same thing happened with the new one! i also can't see images sometimes in websites and i need to refresh them to see them. i disconnected the cordless phone that i told you about, and the images problem disappeared :) a friend of mine also has this phone and he has a lot of problems with his internet too! so now the main problem is solved for me :) but the damn modem is locked with a password. i think its a worm that locks random modems of this type that dont have passwords. is there a known username/password for this issue or should i bruteforce it? if i must, what should i use to bruteforce it? there are http, telnet and ftp interfaces to the modem, all have the same password. I'd appreciate it very much if you read all this and try to help! :D

Inertia
did you configure your modem using the CD-rom provided on a windows system ? or did you jsut do it on the web interface ? Factory reset should work, but on soem versions is hard to get right, what is the full modem and version (perhaps u can describe how it looks or give a picture to help me work out the version). Hope i can help, I work for an ISP and i trouble shoot alcatel routers all day long :D
