Why Microsoft hates Neowin

Recommended Posts

People at Neowin are just a drop in the sea of Windows users, so Microsoft does not give a crap.

From a business standpoint of view, you should always listen to the negative critiques even if most of your customers are happy.

Wide satisfaction doesn't mean you cannot improve and for a company that (I think at least) wants to "be there forever" and stick around, it should address as many customer concerns as possible.

Seeing that the critiques don't just come from one forum, but from all of the tech nerd forums, I guess it's safe to say Microsoft wouldn't be stupid looking at them.

Whatever they do with it, that might be something different, but I'm pretty sure a lot of MS employees are registered to forums like this one and hence do get the messages being posted. Surely not all of MS is reading all of the comments about Windows 8, but they probably read a lot and they are smart in doing so.

One-way business kills you.

I'm amazed that there are so many W8 haters - I'm pretty pleased with what I see. I use it as Primary OS on laptop and will do on desktop as soon as suitable drivers for ATI Radeon X1300 are available. I'm planning to sell my Samsung i5 laptop & HP Touchpad when W8 tablets are released to help fund a new W8 tablet with dock :-)

I use Win8 CP as my primary machine. If you force yourself to find out the new way to do all your old tasks from Win7 then its no different then any other new OS transition. I mean look at the drastic changes between Win 3.1 and Win 95. There were new buzzwords and new ways of doing things throughout the whole OS.

The changes people keep demanding from MS are just not feasible. Paul Thurrott put it best when he said the desktop isn't the center of the computer anymore, its more like an app in Metro. Metro is so engrained that you "can't" turn off metro. A good analogy, Metro is like explorer, you turn that off and you don't have a computer more or less. Something people should get into their brains.
