Windows 8 pre view another mistake?

Question

I'd have to say no, but then like all things MS this version isn't leaps ahead. It seems like a revamp of Windows 7 with some added features. At least this preview seems that way. I installed in VMwareplayer 4.0. It does alright, there are a few cool features that 7 doesn't seem to have but largely I think 7 could be made to mimic those features. I've like 7 since it came out. What is really nice is how well vmwareplayer and the support in 8 gives you access to the host pc hardware. Very nice. The beta is lacking some driver support at present using basic drivers generic ones. Glad I got it in vmaware on not an actual system.

I have it running on my main powerhouse PC and I love it. I don't use the start menu much except for app search, which i can normally get done in under a second.

I'm relatively happy with it, no major gripes from me.
