skaife
[sorry if this is in the wrong forum] In a few week's time, I need to present a talk on computer/network/internet security to the class, but I dont know how I'm going to do it without half of them falling asleep... It is mainly concerning Microsoft, and also the people who are uneducated in security, but if you can throw other ideas at me then that would be very helpful. I guess I'm just asking how can I make it interesting to them? I'm really the only person in the class who is actually interested in the subject (it was an optional thing) so... yer Thanks Edited October 9, 2003 by skaife
MxxCon
"security" is a pretty wide subject for presentation. what exactly do you want to talk about? antivirus? spyware? trojan/backdoor? nigerian/korean money scam:)?
Jon
How about demystifing hackers, or teach your class mates how to practice safe hex. Half the point of a presentation is personal experience, the other half is educating the audience, so plan to teach them something thats actually useful. You could do some really exciting presentations on security, the problem is its incredably obviously when someone bullsh1ts about it.

John Veteran Posted October 10, 2003 Veteran Share Posted October 10, 2003 use lots of comparisons. try to compare things to stuff they like. the more they like it, the more fun they'll have. the more it makes sense, the more interested they'll be.
