Some of them look real but others look fake. I don't want to create a spam war on whether or not it;s real or not but I'm not really convinced of the pictures of the user using it on the desk in front of the projector. The one in he assembly plant and the back room looks real enough for me. Personally also I'm not sure the image of the 10 year old kid playing Quake 3 is as real as they want us to believe.

I really don't know what to make of this console. Fake? Real??

Its very name leads you to believe something's not quite right. If I were honest, I would say that I am very sceptical this thing will see the light of day in our stores. It just seems wrong. From the way they are showing everyone the "prototypes" and the "console" in bits and pieces to the financial history of the director (if that's what he really is, according to that well-read HardOp article). I mean, who ever has a console in developmental stages that is able to run a fully functional, mainstream game like one of the Quake series? I don't care if it's an emulation - you still have hardware issues and software bugs and all sorts to tweak before things like this will run perfectly. Do they even have a license to run Quake on a non-PC system?! (Yes, I am aware it has been on DC etc. but these are proper projects, not emulations).

The amount of evidence showing this thing as a fake far outweighs the "solid proof" give to its existence. Yes, we have photos and bits of news on the progress, but nothing really convinces me that it's real. Even less convinces me that I would actually be interested in buying it if it were released. Right now it sounds like one of those joypads you plug into the TV and play ancient rip-off games on. You know the ones I mean...

XPe? Is there a place where Microsoft announces companies they are working with or developing solutions for? Because I haven't heard so much as a line of acknowledgement from them about this console. It IS in "competition" with the Xbox, but you would still expect to hear something about it somewhere.

I believe this guy may be at the point now where he really cannot go back on what he's promised people. A victim of his own success, as it were. My ?5 is on the future scenario that it will end in a "oh, sorry, but we didn't get enough support/funding/interest so we're having to fold the company" excuse. Anyway, there's my penny's worth.:))

I think its real. But that doesnt mean it will ever be popular or have good software support.

I mean how many of the major developers are gonna be interested in this phantom

you cant just just pull a console of your @$$ and expect it to catch on

most games dont even come out for xbox ps2 gc and pc.

Consoel smonsole... Its a PC running Windows XP with a special shell. They cant even sell a modded kernel so you know it can run a stock XP with just a simple re-install.

From what it looks like, it has an AGP slot for expandability and such.. however, the size is un-needed.

In the market today we have SFF PCs that can use a processor far beyond that of the phantom and video cards that even surpass that... *cough* Radeon 9800 XT *cough*... The size of this beast just makes me sick.

Sorry for bashing yet they could do better... far better.
