sathenzar
I think I already know this is a yes, I was going to provide some information about games in an app I'm selling for almost free and was told that if I included icons of the games as a free download separate from the purchase it was legal. I'm assuming that is incorrect right? I mean copyrighted icons can't be distributed for free even in a commercial environment without the owners permission can they? If not it's not a big deal I can just make a default place holder icon I made myself I was just curious.

sathenzar
Ok. Well if it's not black and white I'd rather just use place holder images that aren't copyrighted to be sure. I don't want any law suits filed against me :)
Ryster
I doubt you'd get a lawsuit filed just for including a few icons for reference purposes in your app. At worse you'd get a cease and desist letter.
