In need of clear-cut reference/refrences

Recommended Posts

I am studying about computer security and am having a hard time figuring counter measures for black-hat hacking. I have successfully hacked my own WEP encrypted wireless connection...I also know there are ways to hack into WPA/WPA2. However, I notice when I type in the search box to look through the context of a Security+ book "how to create a honeypot"...0 results show up or when I type in "how to stop wep hacking"...I instead get a lot of videos on how TO hack wep. Since my main objective is to learn how to safe guard AGAINST attacks and learn by DOING I was wondering if anybody knew of any clear-cut instructions on how to effectively and inexpensively counter any of the following:

WEP hacking

WPA/WPA2 hacking

SQL injection

hacking with Evil Twin (Rouge AP)

Blue snarfing

Blue jacking

session hijacking

TCP/IP hijacking

(What I do know is the WPA/WPA2 is stronger than WEP. I also do know that you can use MAC filtering and not broadcast SSIDs..however this can be countered by the attacker using a protocol analyzer. I know that you can lower power levels of wireless networks so they are less detectable. Also, I know that certain versions of Windows 7 can have data encrypted with bit-locker so that even if a network is compromised but that it's a pain having to decrypt the drive every time.

Thanks very much in advanced for anybody with a helpful answer or helpful answers to this query.

Ok...I've come to some answers to my own questions....besides raising user-awareness for vishing, phishing, and blue snarfing...I came across some information on honey pots and what can be downloaded for free:

If anybody else runs across anything please let me know...thanks...

http://www.google.com should be your first stop. You honestly expect us to believe that you haven't found any info yourself searching the web for such well-discussed topics? I could find half a dozen sites discussing each of your items in a matter of seconds.

I'm really not sure Neowin is the best site for you to come and discuss hacking things :p

Nor is hacking a good subject for you if you don't know to "google" information/references first.
