I had a similar problem but only with one person and it turns out he had the XP firewall on without even knowing, :lick:

killuminati
nah I always have the same problem. I know whats causing it. My network IP is 10.0.0.138 and when I send a file to someone Messenger is kind of a server at that moment. So Messenger sends my IP to the person that I want to send a file to. But instead of sending real IP, it is sending my local IP. That why I cant send files :(
ElGato
You have some kinda router involved then? Maybe you need to forward some ports.
Click
I use the Yahoo IM for sending files. Works great with XP. ICQ and Messenger both suck unless your turn off the firewall on both ends or bore a hole through it. Pain in the ass if you ask me.
inVision
With MSN (Windows) Messenger (any version) you cannot send files if you are behind a network (10.0.0.xxx is not routable)...You can on the other hand recieve files and chat ofcource.
