cybertimber2008
I picked up a Cisco SA4500 today for the low low price of $50 (local Trade-It)... which I knew the model and it's value when I saw it. I'm torn between putting it on Amazon, or keeping it. As far as keeping it... I'd like to get a decent USB adapter for my HTPC so I can stream the recordings to another computer. The problem is I live in a "noisy" neighborhood. I can see 38 wireless 2.4ghz computers from INSIDE my condo. It's just not easy to place it on a clear channel, so I wanted to switch to 5Ghz (1 network according to my laptop, but it's wireless-A only). The problem I have is Cisco doesn't seem to have a decent USB dual-band adapter. Seriously, look up reviews on the AE2500. So Neowin... will any dual-band adapter work witht the SA4500? Should I keep it, or sell it (for profit w00t) and get another router that has decent adapters? Or should I (can I) find a 5ghz adapter? ...and yes, I could (and plan to) wire my condo from the HTPC to my router. It's not hard, but there are firestops midway in the wall, which requires me cutting a hole in my wall to drill the firestop. Going to do that once a roommate moves. Crisp
To be honest, most Wi-Fi USB adapters are naff from experiance. Can't you go PCI?

Not sure if those things are cross compatible across vendors but I don't see why not.But yea I can go PCI if need be. Wait in what way do you mean naff? If it's not full bandwidth I'm ok with that. Full 450mbps streaming is probably overkill for .wtv recordings.
