Came back from a day of hiking to find this on my screen. I think MSE is trying to tell me something...

Either I am not getting something or you do not actually realize that probably is not Adobe Flash Player.

Ain't it at all strange to you to have that in WOW64?

Adobe has an x64 installer now. I checked the file manually, and it's fine.

I think that's correct if it's the 64-bit version of Flash Player.

^-- Some hack3r named his malware flashplayerinstaller so n00bs like OP tell their scanners to ignore it.

Lulz. I doubt some 1337 haxx0r would include a digital cert from Adobe Systems, Inc. :)

The SysWoW64 folder contains the Windows 32bit files required to run older 32bit applications on a 64bit installation.

The flash player install file there, I assume, would be more likely to be a 32bit version rather then the 64bit.

If that's legit, wtf are Adobe doing putting an installer in SysWOW64. There is no benefit (not even permissions-wise) to put something in there. Something like that should be saved & launched from %TEMP%. They are breaking simple installer guidelines - why clutter the user's system folder(s) with junk that runs once.

I believe they also use FlashPlayerInstaller as their update checker / updater.
