Fil
I've had my ISDN connection for a little while now and I'm thinking of moving on from my second ISP. First off I was with BT on their Dynamic 128k service, but they only allowed 75 hours a month at 128kbps (!!) Then we moved onto Virgin.net, very cheap but we can only connect at 64kbps, a bit limiting when you want 128kpbs, especially for playing online. Can anyone recommend a good ISDN provider who will allow 128kbps connections but at a fair price.
mint0
Do you need ISDN? Because you can get ntl broadband 150k for like 17.
Fil
Yep, I need ISDN. We haven't got broadband here just yet. I am actively campaigning for it, and we hope to hit trigger level within the next month or two, which means we should get broadband sometime around Feb/March 2004! rezza Veteran Posted October 11, 2003 Veteran Share Posted October 11, 2003 I think Daemon do an unmetered 128k connection... they are one of 2 ISPs who do so in the UK... can't remember who the other one is... might want to check out www.ispreview.co.uk and have a browse around. Rathamon
beware of fiting ISDN if you plan to get DSL , they wont run over the same line so you have to pay to get the ISDN taken out again...
~Bull}{Dog~
Nobody does ISDN at a fair price because of the kind of people that have it.. They know you cant have anything else, and that you are willing to pay extra, you already have home highway. All I can say is read the small print, look for usage limits and the like before you pick your ISP. I'm guessing you already know this but just making sure ;) beware of fiting ISDN if you plan to get DSL , they wont run over the same line so you have to pay to get the ISDN taken out again... Its not that big a problem anymore, ISPs can order managed migrations which will give BT the order to remove ISDN and install DSL on the same visit to the exchange. As long as the ISP knows what they are doing it wont be an issue.
Groovedude
you got the same ploblem as me : Fil I use signle line ISDN with freeserve anytime at the moment.. once you move to 128kb *dual line* the price and time schemes are stupid :(.. and moving from isdn to Dsl isnt a problem if you look on bt's website you can choose to upgrade from isdn to dsl cheaper i believe.. :)
