Cannot install Ms.Webcam VX1000 - XP SP3

Question

Seems that SP3 comes with trouble in terms of installing devices especially for my vx webcam from microsoft. I receive this type of error and due all info's that support ms.site gives me seems impossible to pass this..

any suggestion is welcome!

What driver are you using to install the software?

Try this link to download the latest software from MS for your device:

http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/d/lifecam-vx-1000

Just choose your Operating System and then the version (32-bit or 64-bit) to download - this should work and allow the install to complete.

What happens when you plug the device in first (you may be able to install the driver if you have its .INF file saved somewhere on your PC)? Do you have an older version of the software already installed on your PC?

If you are trying to install the software from the CD included with the Webcam, then that's your problem there - it is way out of date!

Just try downloading and installing the newest driver software from the link in my first post (this seemed to resolve the issue for most people) and if that doesn't work, try following the instructions from the link in my second post.

I was trying with the latest driver (3.22) available on ms.website (first link). I'll try the second link method and come with news..hope positive.
