-=SD=-
My brothers IP on our connection of 3 pc's was logged for receiving a ping of death detection, I am not familiar with what that means, whether someone just pinged him or tried to DoS him...? Oct/12/2003 01:12:30? Ping of Death Detect *(IP's Removed)* Packet Dropped Is that anything unusual or is it just a normal packet dropped, the manual on the router doesn't say much on it ://
Toxicfume Veteran Posted October 12, 2003 Veteran Share Posted October 12, 2003 From what I understand, I think it was a kind of an attack.

-=SD=-
Yeah, I looked at that but wasnt sure it was it since the router listed a packet dropped, I dont know what was dropped the attack or his request... But looking at his PC scanning with virus there are 41 and counting, so who knows what he has on it :( good thing I looked at that log or else his PC would not have been fixed (he is not that good on fixing the pc hehe)
Krest
A certain pattern sent within a ping packet can disconnect a modem, old trick, doesn't work anymore.
