The Force is weak within you

Although, the news title suggests this is a funny article... Please also take into account that being involved in a crash is no laughing matter and it is not to be taken lightly. However, you have to have some sense of humor about the name of the defendant. Obiwan Kenobi I mean who names their child Obiwan Kenobi...? Maybe they were "Jedi Hippies"

ROSEVILLE, Calif. -- Jedi mind tricks apparently weren?t enough to keep Obiwan Kenobi out of the Placer County Jail. Roseville police said that over the weekend they arrested a 37-year-old with the same name as the "Star Wars" character on suspicion of hit-and-run causing injury. Kenobi was also wanted on an unrelated charge of petty theft, authorities said. Kenobi was arrested in connection with a five-vehicle crash that took place March 19 at Fairway and Rosehall drives.

Officers said that three vehicles were stopped in the straight-ahead lane of westbound Fairway when another vehicle stopped in the left-turn lane. A fifth vehicle, which was described as a green Toyota, collided with two cars it tried to merge between. The crash set off a chain-reaction, causing two other vehicle to be hit. Police said the Toyota fled the area after the wreck. An investigation led officers to Kenobi, who was arrested at his home on Saturday, authorities said. Kenobi is being held in the Placer County Jail on $17,500 bail. Roseville police said two people complained of pain after the crash.

Well if he's 37, I don't think he was originally named Obiwan Kenobi because Star Wars didn't come out until 35 years ago.
