gstevie88
I have a broadband router with a firewall built into it. Does this mean I do not need a firewall on my pc? Or is the hardware firewall p*ss? Or is the hardware firewall better than a software one? Thanks in advance Weegrim2008

blachole
If your router is using NAT (Which I believe it is) Then you should be fine without a software firewall. I perosnally never use/recommend them because they suck and most of the time always fail. Where as a router with NAT blocks all ports unless you tell it not to. I have never had a problem with Trojans or Viruses with my router. I'd recommend that if its using NAT do not use a software firewall, Keep control of your router and make sure you have an updated virus removal tool just in case someone emails you a gift. :)

DigitalDreamer
I actually would recommend 2 popup blockers. I have used Meaya Popup Killer http://www.meaya.com/ for about 2 yrs. and i love it. It is a fee based app for $24.00 but it is well worth it. If you are looking for a good free popup blocker i would use Google Toolbar at http://toolbar.google.com/ it works great also. Hope this helps.
neophi
Where as a router with NAT blocks all ports unless you tell it not to. Unlesss you tell it not to block all ports? Or unless you tell it which ports not to block? (I need to unblock whatever port the microphone for MSN runs on or something.) PS: Mozilla Firebird has built-in pop-up blocker =)
