Any1 Got PS3 Spec?

Recommended Posts

There have been some specs released from Sony few months back on what there working on.

Its said that the PS3 will use CELL technology a new chip 1000 times faster than the PS2, it is unique as roumours about it are that it can be used along the internet i.e. using power from other PS3s accross the internet, Weird i know  and roumors about it fixing itself if over used :s

The PlayStation 3 will be able to use its broadband Internet connection to draw additional computing power from idle processors across the Internet.

another thing is there using Yellowstone Technology (codename) this is a way of connecting new - Rambus "RDRAM" to The CELL that can go at 100gig per second :woot:

something called "Blu-Ray Disk" will be used for the games with capacities of 25-27 gig per DVD

Also it will have same specs as the new PSX i.e. DVD-R recording, TV, broadband internet, hard dirve and more

:)

that's pure hype...or absolute theoretical maximum possible performance in one extremely simple operation. it won't run all of your 1000 times faster

even by 2k6 blu-ray disc might be too expensive to be used in something like game consoles

with sony paying over $400 million on development of Cell tech, either the ps3 or ps4 will have it and will cell to come out in 2005 maybe sony are waiting on that.

blu ray disks are due to be out in 2004 an its the recorder that will cost the most as it uses longer lazers  , blue ray are cartrige dvds like dvd-rams as dust can easily kill it :p

(some companies have already started making blu ray)

i know this is just speculation at the moment but cell is being developed and blu ray are too so if its there why not :p

heres alot of information regarding ps3s hopes, plans and speculation:
