Help the lastest Windows 7 update kills my printer drivers.

Question

In the last round of updates (I think last 16) it kills my printers. I don't know which specific patch causes the problem. If I try to print anything nothing happens.

If I try to install new drivers it won't let me install the new drivers saying its all ready there. I won't let me delete the printers either.

When I roll back using system restore the printer works fine.

I not sure how to solve this problem. How do I find out which specific patch causes the problem? i.e touches the devices and printer folder?

The easiest way would be to do one patch at a time and see what happens. Worst case you can always roll back with System Restore.

After updating, are you installing your printer drivers via the manufactures website?

To find out which update is causing the conflict you'll have to install them one by one to single it out.

Its really the whole device manager that seems to be messed up I guess I have to go through the updates one at a time which is a pain in the ass.

Check whether the recommended updates are being treated as important updates, thus being installed when you update your windows.

When you try to print, does the it que in the printer spooling?
