Jason S. Global Moderator Posted October 13, 2003 Global Moderator Share Posted October 13, 2003 the number one rule for playing this game is patience.... if youre used to serious sam style, this game isnt it. each level is very slow going... youre crawling along the level most of the time... you have to take in consideration everything around you... every shot you take has to be a head shot or youre pretty much f*cked, and you cant always kill a person. basically... great game, great idea for the game... i just dont have the patience. snocked
patience is key, but yes it's worth the money.
DrunknMunky Veteran Posted October 13, 2003 Author Veteran Share Posted October 13, 2003 whats better, MGS/2 or splinter cell?
Neo003
splinter cell all the way
skooter_15
Splinter Cell would go pretty damn close on being my favourite game of all time. It's sweet! I haven't heard about any extra levels for PS2 but I know that you can download Kola Cell from xbox live, which is the extra level on xbox. So the answer to your original question is yes... go buy it! It's definatly worth the money :D
NeogearzX
im a metal gear solid ###### lol MGS2 has a much better storyline IMO, but splinter cell has more character/game interaction and really is an impresive game as far as graphics and character ability go and yes the ps2 get some snow level that xbox does not get, however, with xbox live you are able to download extra levels too. munki
Cell is very cool. Yes it's long and can be a lil frustrating at times, but once you get into the game, you'll like it. :)
DrunknMunky Veteran Posted October 14, 2003 Author Veteran Share Posted October 14, 2003 kool, i was playing the demo last night and i really liked it, so i think im gonna go out and buy the full version today, thnx for all the opinions people :)
davemania
I suggest buying a second hand copy off ebworld or something. Its a good game but the replay value is limited, it can be frustating at certain levels but overall its a good game (Y)
Icarus ^i^
IMHO, Splinter Cell was the best Xbox game of 2002, so you're doing the right thing if you pick up a copy :)
Lenny
It's a fantastic game. Also there are another 2 new levels being released soon, at least, I think it's two. They are on a Ubi soft promotional disk and I imagine downloabable via Live too :D
.....
1. Yes 2. There is one extra level, but it's not that good, and if you have xbox live, you can download 2 more levels at the moment, and there's another level to come. 3. It's a great game, but you need patience if you're gonna get through it. 4. Splinter Cell, but you can't really compare them, splinter cell is a stealth game, whereas metal gear solid is an action game with minor stealth elements (that aside it's a worse game if you ask me anyway)
DrunknMunky Veteran Posted October 17, 2003 Author Veteran Share Posted October 17, 2003 Just an update, I bought Splinter cell and all i can say is WOW, why didnt i buy this game sooner?! There is so much more interaction with people and the enviroments compared to MGS, its fantastic, amazing graphics and gameplay. However, MGS/2 i think has better storie lines IMO ;) thnx to all the people for their advice on buying the game, its well worth it (Y)
o_87
Splinter Cell has more of a 'real-world' storyline, while MGS is more 'fantasy'.
l]ante
Just like other people said, you need to be patient. This game is great, I loved it. I never played the game for XBox, I played it for the PC. I doubt its very much different. But this game is worth it.

Neo003
I rented mgs2 I hated it so much that after playing for about 10 min and I gave it back. I loved splinter cell on pc I don't know how many times I played on pc & I played twice on xbox I can't get enough of it. :punk:
