Kaspersky "lost" against GDATA in yearly productupdate

Question

Just a thought...

since Kaspersky is kinda almost the first with the new yearly productupdate, this year they "lost" against GDATA, since the latter already has a 2013-lineup...

Please don't don't take this in a bad way, you have all the rights to your thoughts :)

But is it really that important who is the first to release a new yearly product update??? :s

Isn't it more important the one who who releases the best and not the one who releases the first ???

Disclaimer: I use none of this products, so I really have no interest in them or on any-other who releases first...

Like I said... "just a thought".

I did a couple of years back a re-review of Internet Security Suites and found KIS to be one of the best (NOD32 is also very good).

Detection rates etc were almost the same, but KIS was - at least back than - somewhat lower on resources and price-wise better (i.e. cheaper). From that moment KIS is my choice.

What does it matter? They can't offer anything cool except more bloat in AV products anyway.

Kaspersky is quite good, had no problem with them and actually bought their product only after declaring the no SOPA support ... ... will probably continue with another yearly subscription

Avast have let me down on a few occasions (probably user error but would let the program take part of the heat

I've never even heard of GDATA....

GData is a really good software but its not know to a lot of people!! It has the least miss/High detection rate.

Fasle positive is very low too. I still prefer Kaspersky(Hourly updates and good detection rate) and MSE(Light weight, fast and good detection rate).

Av comparative results last month http://www.av-compar.../detection-test

I thought GDATA used Kaspersky Lab's AV def's? (perhaps i'm wrong)

Kaspersky Labs are top dog for me. They have regular updates and one of the best detection rates. I didn't expect a response when submitting a new possibly malicious file but they replied back within an hour with a personal response thanking me for submission and that they had added detection to their next hourly update.

KIS is indeed quite good.

That's why I still have this piece of software installed on my machines.

Awaiting KIS 2013... any change logs, performance notices and/or visual differences known so far?

G Data is able to achieve higher detection rates than other products through the use of multiple scanning engines from Avast and BitDefender.

G Data possibly has the best detection rates of any antivirus, but Kaspersky is very close to it as well.

Ya it uses like 3 or 4 different antivirus engines
