installing drivers

Question

Hello

I am having a lot of trouble installing drivers. After a few hours I managed to find a program that allows you to backup already installed drivers. There are two versions of win xp on his pc.SO i have the drivers themselves and I installed them using driver forge but it does not work.

Is there are program that can do this you know of?

Oh! On my old XP box, when I install drivers, it doesn't actually install them it extracs them. Run the driver program then go to where it said it was extacting (ussually it's a folder in the root of C:/) and run the program in the folder! reboot! Double check it in Hardware manager. Tell me how it works...Back in the day I was banging my head against the wall wilth this too...

Maybe it's because the OEMs wants you to give up and just buy their restore disk? I don't know why....just a guess though. Can't say I've had any recent driver issues other than some buggy Windows 8 NVIDIA drivers....

SO I backup drivers in one windows installation then using drivers magician restored them in another one.And it does not work but while I was restoring the drivers I got pop ups that I cancelled so I am thinking maybe I should have payed more attention.I think I will run it again but want i wanted to know I have been installing all kinds of drivers the whole day and I am wondering how will the p know which ones to use.

Do you think I should uninstall all drivers and then do another driver restoration?
