And the first viruses were nothing more than office pranks - this changed. As well as the way a virus is delivered / spread.

As soon as they figured out they can make money from infections - all things changed.

It is rare to see an infection hop from machine to machine in the scenario mentioned in this thread.

Thanks for that Tex. Just in case I didn't know viruses weren't pranks anymore..

I was observing that at the time it was something that was thought to be impossible as you had just finished saying that this was impossible.

Now that you have acknowledged it can happen, I have nothing more to add.

I've done it several times. I make sure AV is completely up-to-date, any autoruns are turned off, etc.

That's been the only way I've been able to clean some of my relative's systems (without having to reinstall).

Just for interest's sake, check out this video.

While I acknowledge that the bug is specific to adobe, it is worth noting that there are other exploits that do similar things.

Yep they are called Zero day for a reason, because the only ones who usually knows about the problem is the bad guys.

I cant tell if you're being a smart ass or actually agreeing with me.

But I never said it was impossible. I was simply adding to your post, no contesting what you said... just adding to it.

If you have customers then you have a business.

The business will probably be run from the PC that is 'Your computer' in this instance.

Connecting anything with a known infection issue would introduce extra risk to your platform from which the business is run.

If you don't have a spare PC for testing then you risk damage to business files and personal files. Why do that?

99 times out of 100, your going to be fine connecting it... however we all know that life sits on the 1%

Its that 1% that ruins your day, sticks in your mind and has you wishing you had connected it to a spare PC.
