Lexcyn
I doubt this will happen... it's too much of a bold move. A lot of people are going to resist saying it's an invasion of privacy... and I think it is too. If they can somehow block piracy, what's stopping them from doing/looking at whatever they want to on your computer? :pinch:
CarlosMiguel
i am not into piracy but if they want to stop piracy, they have to burn the whole world... many many rules has been created but it only gets worst...
SunnyB
Don't underestimate the intrusive power of your government. They have done much worse things in the past that you may be unaware of. All in the name of national security, which is just another way of guaranteeing there control over the American public and their extremely high salaries. tscallions
The only type of government involment that I agree with is the use of the internet. I mean Al Gore did invent the internet and he can shut it down if he wants to. But seriously, this is becoming outrageous. The government moving into our living rooms and computer rooms. Some may see this as not a big deal, but in the greater scheme of things it all comes back to the old adage of "give'em an inch and they'll take a mile". Bill O'Rielly said it best on the Howard Stern show, "it's not that I am against all the things that people do in the privacy of their own home, it is against the demoralizing of today's youth". In a sense, this is the same thing. You let the government take a little away here, a little away there, then what do we as "free" american have left? There are only so many pieces of pie to eat. What happens when the goverment eats all of our pie? People say, that will never happen. People will complain and say it's too much. But people say that everytime something like this comes down the hill yet I never hear those people complaining. I say, and I know it sounds corney, write your congress preson, your senator. Check out www.consumersunion.org All you have to do is plug in your zip code and it will allow you to write an email or snail mail to your representative. We are never going to have change until we stop talking and do something. By the way, I'm not trying to start a political debate. If you don't care about this subject fine. I can relate to that. There are a lot of things I'm not involved in, sending letters complaining that the goverment spent thousands of taxpayers dollars on the study of how fast ketchup flows from the bottle. (This is true, Andy Rooney did a special on this years ago on 60 Minutes), but I do feel like I am a better person for actually letting my government know how I feel about things that matter to me. eppisode3
Yeah, this is getting ridiculous. It's funny, when SunnComm was going to sue that student for finding out about how easy it was to crack their "protection" and everyone realized the "protection" installed a program on your computer without you knowing, they quickly took a different stance and made it all go away. All of these plans and actions and great ideas are coming from people thinking that it is easy to do and there is no risk or law breaking involved. They don't understand technology and they don't care what it would do to the consumer and/or the manufacturer. People, like myself, will not go out and buy new equipment and products just so I can "keep up with the times". What I get really tired of is the fact that the government will spend alot of money to find out what the public is doing, but they won't spend a cent or a second to find out how the cable companies are screwing the customer. Simply retarded. I don't promote piracy but I won't say I don't participate.
