QuarterSwede
PETA is so amazingly backwards it worries me that so many teenage kids get lured into their way of thinking.I am all for the humane treatment of animals, but lets not humanise them with thoughts and emotions, which they scientifically are not equipped to possibly have. Also, at what point did people start doing things because Pam Anderson said so? animals don't have emotions eh? seriously, there are so many instances I've seen to contradict that. Because their brains are smaller doesn't mean a thing...we only use 10% of our giant brains, while animals use more like 90%. Since when does size of brain matter? what de sthat size give us? Are microchips any worse than the giant processors of the 80's computers? What matters is the brain to body size ratio. That is why humans are so smart. We have the largest brain to body size ratio of any animal on Earth. Elephants are also smart because their brains are relatively large for their body size ... same goes for dolphins. I think PETA goes waaaay to far when it comes to animal rights. Yes, I believe animals are here for us to eat but we are also to take care of them. Kill the chickens quickly for goodness sake and end this B.S. I'm sick of PETA getting all keyed up because of something happening to animals (Save the Whales). How about they look at those of us suffering (homeless?)

postertoad
Chickens need to be protected, just imagine what would happen if they decided to revolt!? Great work! [it would be an improvement though] Ethics aside, how about a little self respect? /: drunkin rant I eat meat ... I love meat. You pick the season, I'm there ... elk, deer, salmon, halibut, etc... But will I eat garbage? NO! The way factory farms work, it's no better than grilling up a dumpster dining sensation. Sure ... it's cooked, and "most likely" safe ... but is it food? There is a HUGE difference in flavor [and arguably nutrition] between an animal of the range and a captive lump of feathery/furry biomass. I would rather eat roadkill than the sorry excuse for meat they serve at KFC and so on. Seriously, your dog [or cat] would make a much better entree than the dregs of the animal kingdom on sale for $1.99. I'm more concerened about the humans than the chickens. It's all fine and dandy now, but where are these bottom feeders when they're 40 or 50? Overloading our medical system, that's where. All these mental midgets, stuffing whatever fits on a fork into their mouths, cause insurance premiums to skyrocket. Do society a favor, don't breed, choke on your 6 piece bucket, roll over and die. Culinary Criminals: People who can't kill and clean and animals don't belong eating meat. People don't grasp the "garbage in - garbage out" concept. /end just had to get that out, Great point on the silicon animal testing, by the way. MR_Candyman
I agree that we should all HUNT for our food. for 1, it would give people more excercise. 2: we wouldn't need these huge farms that are being cruel to animals. But will people ever accept having to hunt themselves? no, because they're lazy and expect everything served on a silver platter

oo420oo
Like hamburger meat is any better? Anyone here ever been to a hotdog factory? I went to one as a field trip in school and they actually fed us hotdogs for lunch. I remember to this day the smell of the factory but especially what our guide said to us, "We use everything but the 'oink' to make our hotdogs!" Mmmm.
