Lock Down Computer.

Question

Is it possible to lock down access on my computer, so that in a lock down mode, the person using the computer cannot browse through my files or launch anything, other than a few specific applications?

I'm curious and paranoid about letting people on my computer.

I have 10+ years of files on my pc, and I would rather not risk having my computer f***ed up.

give them user rights, not admin rights. they will not be able to browse through other folders that they do not have access over. And if you secure it with hard drive encryption like truecrypt, it will stop them from being able to boot without you knowing or boot to a cd or usb drive and try to get your data. It will stop most people from seeing your files by doing this, it will also protect your computer if it gets stolen.

This only answers the first portion of the question. You would also need to generate a group policy to which this user is a member and lock down every application you desire they not access.
