chronic871
I'm using WinXP Pro, I encrypted files & folders on one of my drives. I got a new hard drive, so I did a clean installation of windows. then I formatted my old windows installation. I am unable to access my files from my new Windows installation, windows won't lets me. I don't have a file encryption certificate from my old windows or Recovery Agent certificate. I've tried just about everything I could find in help and come up with on my own. Is there a solution for this problem???
+primortal Subscriber² Posted January 15, 2002 Subscriber² Share Posted January 15, 2002 Your files are lost.... If you didn't have Recovert Agent certificate you cannot recover your files. Update - Make sure that the account you used to encrypt the files is named the same and the password is the same as it was before the system rebuild. You can also try to copy the files to an unencrypted directory and see if it helps....
