ElliottLan
i have a windows network with all my computers going onto the internet through my firewalled server at 192.168.0.1. for my own reasons i wanted to put a freeBSD box on the network just so i could play around with the shell (as i have a spare 400Mhz computer) in my computer i have 2 nics, 1 wireless and 1 wired. when i connect the freebsd box to the wired NIC it takes over my computer and i can no longer communicate with the windows network. I tried bridging the connections but that didnt help, and i dont know what to do from here. i want to be able to access the freebsd box over the network, but still be on the windows network the only thing i can think of is changing the subnet mask of the wired network. would this work? EDIT: and sorry, this might belong in the linux section, im not really sure Edited October 19, 2003 by BaLdMoNkEy
